The next phase was to design a web configurator where an user can choose the type of gas spring and add different end fittings. Everything is dynamic and has a certain logic where it calculates and filters out the attachments so you can’t misconfigure a gas spring.
There is a lot of fitting options that can be attached to the spring to both ends, so it was a little bit challenging to configure everything so it works correctly. Each end fitting has a number of info that needs to be passed to the generated PDF.
After filling out all the steps an email is triggered with the selected configuration combined into one visual. This configuration is then sent to the manufacturing department and the gas spring is assembled.
